What: Crafts, Demonstrations, and Quilts (Oh, and lunch)
More: Fun times with our sisters. (YW are invited)
Below you will find the various projects and demonstrations that we will be having. If you have any questions or want to sign up for a craft, feel free to contact Jenny Cahoon or Michelle Judd.
The deadline for sign-ups (& money) will be Sunday, September 18, 2011.
Cake Pops
(This will also be a demonstration if you just want to watch & learn.)
Cost: $5
Description: Cake rolled into a ball, dipped in chocolate, decorated and put into an arrangement. Will make 16-20 cake pops.
What you need to bring: a baked cake (you probably only need 1/2 a cake so you may want to find a buddy)
Provided: Sticks, chocolate, container, styrofoam, decorations
Necklace Pendants
Description: Use scrapbook paper and using modge-podge apply it to a clear glass rock. Add jewelry finding to create a necklace pendant.
What you need to bring: This is OPTIONAL, but you could bring paper or a picture if you have something specific in mind.
Provided: Glass rock, various scrapbook paper, modge podge, findings, other glue
Cheesecloth Ghost
Description: Ghost form created using glue and cheesecloth
What you need to bring: One 2 ltr. soda pop bottle (empty), two 16 oz. water bottles (empty w/o labels), one plastic 4 qt container (empty ice cream container works great)
Provided: Cheesecloth, stiffy glue, glow-in-the-dark glue,
Home Plaque
Cost: $20
Description: 2.5 ft wide, 8 in tall board with drawer pulls across the top. From each drawer pull is hanging a tile. Each tile has a letter on it that spells HOME. Can also choose LOVE.
What you need to bring: 4 ft of ribbon. The ribbon should be 1 to 1.5 inches wide.
Provided: Board, tiles, vinyl, paint, glue, drawer pulls (silver).
Hairbows
Description: Curled ribbon flower bows.
What you need to bring:
Provided: ribbon, clips, glue
Beadboard Plaque

Description: Wall hanging with wreath or star
What you need to bring: If you choose to get your own middle part, you will probably want to bring that. However, if you choose to get the project "with" the middle then you don't need to bring anything.
Provided: Frame, board, paint, and, if you choose, grapevine wreath or wooden star. Paint options will be: white, black, ivory, and brown.
The "Family" word is not included in this project.
Wooden Christmas Tree
Description: Wooden Christmas tree with scrapbook paper and berries to decorate.
What you need to bring: Nothing
Outdoor Box Oven
What you need to bring: A box. An apple box works best, but you only need one half. Again, finding a buddy may be a good idea. You can go to any produce section and ask for an empty apple box.
Water Filtration Bottle
The "Family" word is not included in this project.
Wooden Christmas Tree
Description: Wooden Christmas tree with scrapbook paper and berries to decorate.
What you need to bring: Nothing
Provided: Wood, paint, paper, berries.
Outdoor Box Oven
(This will also be a demonstration if you want to watch how it works.)
Description: Box oven that uses solar and charcoal briquettes to bake. Can be used for camping or emergencies.
When you use it, you will also need: 4 pop cans filled with rocks, a rack, rock or brick paver to provide oxygen, charcoal briquettes, thermometer (optional)
Provided: Heavy Duty aluminum foil, metal duct tape, roasting bag (for window)
Water Filtration Bottle
Description: This advanced bottle removes up to 99.99 percent of pollutants and contaminants found in drinking water. Produces up to 100 gallons of filtered water. Kit contains one 28-ounce water bottle and two filters. Bottle includes an insulator sleeve and clip.
What you need to bring: Nothing
Provided: Depends on what ordered
Service Project
We will be having a service project throughout the day. If you aren't interested in crafting, feel free to come and help with the service project.
